Storytelling, Doll Workshops, and a Performance in Amorgos with the Sousourades

From May 23 to 26, 2026, we had the pleasure of welcoming Sousourades, Angeliki Agalianou, and Eleana Chatzaki, to Amorgos once again, offering unique storytelling and creative expression experiences to young and old alike.

The initiative started on May 23 with the storytelling performance "In the footsteps of Homer: From the rhapsodist to the storyteller", which took place at the Botanical Park of Amorgos. Teenagers and adults had the opportunity to follow a distinct journey into the art of oral storytelling, from the Homeric tradition to the present day.

Following that, on May 24, 25, and 26, the Sousourades visited all the primary schools of Amorgos, offering pupils a special experience of narration and creation. Through the storytelling "Once upon a doll...", presented this year at the Doll Theatre in Athens, the children learned about stories dedicated to the world of dolls and then participated in a doll-making workshop, creating their own unique figures with imagination, inspiration, and enthusiasm.

We warmly thank Angeliki and Eleana for responding once again to our Association's invitation and being on our island for the fifth time, giving us all beautiful moments of knowledge, creation, and culture.

We also thank the teachers, the students, and everyone who supported and contributed to the success of these activities.
